Filmed in the summer of 1967 by Frank Barr, this nostalgic film documents the home life of Frank’s family. It starts with views of the back yard on North Grace Avenue in the Ivy Hills subdivision of Crawfordsville, IN. From there filming went to Milligan Park in Crawfordsville, giving us a look at the old park playground as it was back then. After more playing in the back yard the story moves to Ohio, where Frank grew up. This is the only footage we see of Frank is when he leads horse rides for the boys. Frank’s wife, Sherry takes the reins as well. This takes place at the residence of Bub and Myrt (Frank’s sister) Williams with their son, Ronnie. Ronnie leads Rachael Barr (Frank’s mother) on the buggy then takes the boys for a trip around the yard. Frank’s oldest, Tony spars with Uncle Bub, which was hilarious. Then we see the farm where Frank’s parents resided, which is right across the road from the house he grew up in. Charles Barr (Frank’s Dad) is seen doing chores with boys in tail. He then takes them across the road to a little pond that Frank helped drudge out by hand when he was a teenage boy.
The original 8mm film was digitized by Eric Barr, using a telecine machine he built out of an old Canon 8mm film projector..
